I’ve got to share this. I’ve signed up for a few different consumer report/word-of-mouth services like this, but PINCHme is seriously disappointing. Your time and opinions are worth so much more than the possible chance at a tiny sample. Influenster sends boxes full of things that you can review later, Crowdtap contributes to a charity of your choice as well as offering monetary rewards for your time, and BrandBacker gives you coupon codes for your friends and readers for doing a little personal testing. PINCHme makes you jump through hoops for the kind of junk you get in your spam folder, and for a very limited time each month you can claim another tiny sample of your choice. If you’re just starting out in product reviews, check out this business review and give PINCHme some space.
There are lots of angry people online right now. Today was the day when thousands of people across America log into PINCHme at 12pm EST to claim samples. Even before the clock hit 12:05 there were hundreds of angry comments on PINCHme’s Facebook page. As I’m writing this the count is now 1,816 and growing steadily.
I am not the kind of woman who expects anything for free, and I don’t throw tempter tantrums when I don’t get what I want. I work for my “free” products. If you’re a blogger, you understand how much effort blogging takes -one of the few ways to earn free stuff. All sample/product sites require some sort of effort. In all honesty, I don’t care about “free”. I enjoy doing what I do regardless. Besides, if I really want something that bad, hubby’s income allows for a shopping trip (or two, or three, or four…)
